The Neil Porter Legacy Warrnambool Careers Expo once again proved the power of community collaboration, opening doors for more than 1,200 students to explore industries, meet employers, and discover what their future could look like. This year, we were thrilled to support a live radio broadcast, ensuring even more people across the South Coast could tune in, hear directly from exhibitors, and learn about the exciting career and education pathways available. This broader community reach was made possible through the Local Initiatives Fund, helping amplify the Expo’s message of opportunity and exploration.
As a not for profit organisation, the Neil Porter Legacy depends on the generosity of local businesses and partners who believe in creating meaningful opportunities for young people. Their support brings to life an event of this scale—covering logistics, infrastructure, marketing, coordination, and on the ground expertise — delivering immeasurable value to our region. With a new hands on trades area launching and exhibitor spaces nearly at capacity, 2026 marked our biggest and most dynamic Expo yet. And the impact speaks for itself:
- 71% of students left with a clearer sense of careers that match their interests
- 72% discovered new industries or pathways
- 65% feel more confident about their future options
For many, one conversation, one question, or one moment of curiosity turned into real possibility.
If you’re planning an event or initiative that helps connect people to education or employment across the South Coast of Victoria, we encourage you to reach out to your Local Jobs Job Coordinator. Together, we can continue creating spaces where young people explore, dream, and take their next steps with confidence.
