Great South Coast Settlement Guide Launched to Support New Arrivals and Regional Workforce Growth

The Great South Coast Settlement Guide has officially launched, providing a new online resource to help new arrivals and their families settle, connect and thrive across the region.

Led by Warrnambool City Council, the project was developed over more than 12 months with input from a dedicated steering committee and regional partners. The Local Jobs Program is proud to have been able to support this work.  The website brings together information on local services, community connections, support programs and opportunities, making it easier for new arrivals to navigate everyday life in the Great South Coast.

The guide recognises that successful migration is about more than employment. While attracting skilled workers is important for regional workforce growth, supporting people and their families to feel welcome, connected and part of the community is what helps them stay long term.

The Great South Coast Settlement Guide is designed to support both new arrivals and employers, providing a practical tool that can be shared with prospective and existing employees as they establish their lives in the region.

As a growing resource, ongoing feedback from communities, organisations and service providers will help ensure the website remains relevant and useful for those choosing to call the Great South Coast home.
