Quarterly employer insights to inform regional workforce priorities

We work closely with local employers to capture real time insights into recruitment conditions and skills shortages across our region. Through our Quarterly Labour Market Skills and Trends Survey, employers share what’s changing on the ground – what roles are hardest to fill, emerging skill gaps, and recruitment pressures.

These insights are consolidated, mapped clearly against ANZSIC codes and shared with the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, ensuring regional workforce intelligence directly informs priorities and the design of our place based initiatives. By encouraging broad employer participation each quarter, we ensure our work is grounded in current, local realities.

The survey is quick (7 questions), practical, and is now open to capture employer experiences for May-July 2026:
